Gelato and prosecco with local food bloggers | Contini

Last week we were thrilled to host the first Yelp Elite event for 2015 at Contini Caffe and Gelateria.

Guests were treated to bespoke Yelp Brambles and Innis & Gunn on arrival and a selection of our classic seasonal Scottish canapes including mini butteries with Stornoway Black pudding crumble and Cannonball tomato relish and Mini shots of celeriac soup with winter apple compote. The canapes were followed by an exclusive tasting of our homemade Gelato – the Ferrero Rocher was tipped by Victor to be the flavour not to miss (sshhh).

“Wow Wow…Innis and Gunn beer, gin cocktails, soft drinks Orangata, canapes, sweets and a full assortment of ice cream…what an awesome combination! I loved the event. A Big Thanks to Jody, Emma and The Victor, just to name a few.

Contini offers entertainment over 3 floors, starting at the bottom with an ice cream and sweets parlour. No expense spared. We all enjoyed a taste of their deliciously home made ice cream and could choose 3 flavours each. I went for Fierra Roche, Pistachio and salted caramel. Besides all the ice cream we also enjoyed a nibble of all the additional little sweets that were on display all over the place. The reception was well organized. We all got served a delicious gin cocktail, a perfect mix between alcohol and juice. Thereafter we all received a taste of various flavoured canapes, of which the creamy lentil soup and salmon topped pastry were the best. Everybody had a choice of lnnis and Gunn beer with the Rum flavour running out very fast.

On the last floor you can experience a la carte dining where they serve only the best in season quality food.
We were also told ghost stories about this 400 year old building and its former inhabitants. A little school desk for Katie is well maintained at the bottom of the staircase.I will definitely be back to the ROYAL Mile Contini restaurant and ice cream parlour!”
