Phenomenal food in gorgeous surroundings!
Some of the best food we ever had during our visit in Edinburgh. All of it coming from the most local of Scottish producers! Staff couldn't have done more and were an absolute delight to converse with, particularly Jack who was a great guide to the city. Special highlights included the venison and the scallops... Can't wait to come back again in the future!

Our relationship with our suppliers is precious and is reflected in the delicious seasonal food our team cooks for you.
We buy direct from many small artisan suppliers throughout Scotland. Our fresh fish and shellfish are only ever landed in Scottish harbours. Our beef and lamb are always grass-fed and Scottish. Organic eggs and vegetables from East Lothian with some seasonal sunshine coming from Italy.
Our menus change throughout the month to reflect what is seasonally available. Beautiful classic cooking with a modern finish, we promise to not disappoint.
A feast for the eyes and the palate
Dishes change throughout the month to reflect the beautiful seasonality of local Scottish produce in our cooking. Fresh oysters and shellfish will always feature on our menu.
Our bar menu serves classic staples such as Fish & Chips, Inverurie Steak Sandwich and our Findlays of Portobello haggis cannonballs are always available to enjoy with great cocktails.
Vegetarian, NGCI and Vegan dishes are available.
Cannonball House is a 17th C townhouse situated next to Edinburgh Castle on the Royal Miles, Castlehill.
The three-story building, with full lift access to all levels, houses our private dining room on the lower level, our cosy cocktail and whisky bar accessed from the Old Knocker Door (yes we do have Scotland's oldest door knocker) and our top floor, double height 50 cover restaurant has stunning views over the city.
The restaurant provides intimate and romantic dining in the heart of the Old Town.

The bar is dark and cosy and the restaurant is bright, airy and very romantic in the evening when we light all our candles.

Cannonball House's private dining room is a stunning room with a central staircase, its own kitchen, access, lift and washroom facilities.
Its layout provides excellent flexibility to create different dining setups for events from 10 to 40 guests.
Whisky tastings and oysters stations, top table for wedding breakfasts and boardroom facilities formal or informal we can accommodate your requirements.

Alternatively, you can collect a gift voucher which is presented as a card in an envelope from any of our restaurants.
