A little bit about our Tasting menu…

Looking for a unique Scottish dining experience.  Beautiful, historic setting that is informal and welcoming.  With views to Edinburgh Castle. Our Taste of Scotland Menu is waiting for you.  Each season we choose our favourite dishes from our a la carte menu and create a 5 course tasting menu with little extras to make it an evening to remember.

We’ll start with a little amuse bouche, a little haggis Cannonball to give you a ubiquitous taste of Scotland to begin.  Warm homemade bread served with the Edinburgh butter Co. butter dressed with Isle of Skye sea salt.

A seasonal soup will be next, this month we have white onion with crispy leeks and roasted red onions.

Next our favourite smoked salmon, a real taste of Scotland, from Dickson’s of Cockenzie.  Oak smoked, hand sliced smoked salmon. Old fashioned but excellent quality. The Dickson’s have been family friends of our family for over three generations now and we love to support them as much as they love to supply us.

Our main course this month is a classic.  Ayrshire pork belly with Stornoway Black pudding, Carroll’s Heritage potatoes from the Borders with a little blood orange to balance the dish.

We serve cheese next.  Celebrating Errington’s newly released Biggar Blue made with goats milk from Lanark and a little Knockraich Farm Crowdie, a very traditional fresh curd cheese.

To finish we have a 70% Valrhona chocolate mousse, chocolate sponge and chantilly cream.

Your choice of coffee or tea and a selection of homemade petit fours with some fancy sweet treats and a little traditional Scottish tablet of course.

We buy from over 70 artisan Scottish suppliers and are proud to support them.  This menu is a chance for us to share a taste of what we believe is some of Scotland’s best, most trusted and most valued producers.

Matching wines and whisky flights are available to accompany your Taste of Scotland menu.

We very much hope you enjoy.
