Discover the history of the Auld Alliance with a very special oyster and champagne tasting at Cannonball Restaurant & Bar.
You’ll be welcomed with a brand new Pommery Champagne served on the rocks, followed by three oysters from Lindisfarne, the UK’s oldest hatchery, and from Ballimore on the shores of Loch Fyne. Each will be matched with tasting measures of delicious Pommery Champagne.
Cannonball Restaurant & Bar is situated on the site of a 16th century townhouse at the top of The Royal Mile. Amazingly the building’s foundations are packed with discarded oyster shells – fast food from days gone by.
We’ll guide your taste buds over the history of one of Scotland’s most beautiful natural foods and the sparkling heritage of France’s national tipple. The Auld Alliance at its best!
