Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Our award winning, single estate extra virgin olive oil is produced from olives grown in Picinisco itself. We are so excited to share our new season oil with you. You’ll find I’ Ciacca Extra Virgin Olive on the menu at Contini Ristorante.
Our oil is a pressing of the Frantoio, Moraiola, Leccina and Marina varieties which offer an unmistakable golden green colour. It is light and fruity with a subtle complexity which is not overpoweringly peppery but offers a delicate sensation in the mouth. We recommend the oil to be served with white meats, seasonal salads and vegetables and is lovely drizzled over fresh sustainable fish and seafood.
We harvest our olives manually with the aid of electric brushes that make work easier but do not harm the plant or bruise the olives. We separate the olives from leaves etc., before they are taken daily to a mill, which operates continuously and where temperature is maintained under 26 degrees . Our olive oil is unfiltered and its low acidity levels ensure that it is certified as extra virgin.
