“Great central location in a former bank. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, also attentive without being annoyingingly so. The menu would surely offer something to please all tastes. Perfect ingredients are beautifully prepared and presented: dishes are fresh and simple, without being simplistic, with no fuss or unnecessary complexity: it’s just food people actually want to eat. The wine list is extensive and very pleasing. Staff are informed about its contents. Lovely atmosphere. Super venue and even if only in Edinburgh for a few hours, I always make a point of going there.”

“Lovely welcoming candlelit entrance to this historic building, but nothing prepares you for the breathtaking view of Edinburgh Castle from the top floor restaurant. Victor himself settled us in and made us feel very welcome. Our Cannonball Gin cocktails helped us through the difficult task of narrowing down the lovely menu choices. A balanced choice of courses with both scots and Italian influence, we enjoyed the lamb, the lemon sole and of course the lobster macaroni cheese. Good choice of wines on the list and we were more than happy with the house white and red by the half litre. All in all a wonderful experience with friends as we lingered after finishing our food and were not made to feel rushed. We will be back very soon ……… and often.”

“Ideal ladies lunch venue. Perfect location as centre of the city. Aim to get a window table as views throughout the year are special. Menu changes each month but soup is always a good choice. This restaurant suits those who prefer a light lunch accompanied by a glass of wine. Tables are sufficiently far apart to suit ease of conversation. Staff are friendly and efficient. Christmas is a perfect time to book a table as restaurant is close to the German market. Ideal for meeting friends from out of town as close to Waverley station.”
