Celebrating Edinburgh Farmers' Market's 15th Anniversary | Contini

What a fabulous day we had celebrating Edinburgh Farmers’ Market‘s 15th Anniversary. Huge congratulations to Edinburgh Farmers’ Market as well as Essential Edinburgh for such a successful event.
Carina had the pleasure of showing the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay around the market and introducing them to stall holders. Thanks to all who supported it and helping make it such a great day!

Our ‘Edinburgh Summer Mess’ went down very well. Our take on an Eton mess, we servedScottish Strawberries and Perthshire Raspberries macerated in our Scottish Kitchen Garden Gin ( Pickering’s Gin infused with our Raspberries from the Garden) , Strawberry swirl Meringues, Whipped Madagascar Vanilla cream and edible flowers.

We were delighted to celebrate with this event in St Andrew Square involving our friends including Neil Forbes and Mark Greenaway.
The only farmers’ market in Scotland to take place on a weekly basis in one place, it has gone from strength to strength despite a global recession.Organisers have reported that footfall has risen by five per cent since 2008 and that the market welcomes on average more than 23,000 people every month. Meanwhile, the average spend per head at the market has increased from £20 in 2005 to £25 this year.
Celebrations for the Edinburgh Farmer’s Market continue this week end at Castle Terrace 9.00am-2.00pm – join in!
