Carina Contini's Kitchen Garden Cookbook
The restoration of an abandoned Victorian kitchen garden forms the basis for a new cookbook celebrating a year in the life of Scotland’s natural larder.
Carina Contini’s Kitchen Garden Cookbook features over 100 seasonal recipes reflecting produce grown every month of the year. The book also tells the story of Carina and her husband Victor’s journey to restore a garden on the outskirts of Edinburgh in order to grow produce for their family and their popular Edinburgh restaurants. Carina is the granddaughter of immigrants who came from Italy and settled in Scotland and the book combines an Italian passion for food with the best ingredients Scotland has to offer. The book marks Carina’s publishing debut in the same year as she becomes an Ambassador for Scottish Food & Drink 2014.
Beautifully illustrated with full-colour food and garden photography, the 300 page hardback book costs £25 and was published by Frances Lincoln Publishers in April 2014.
