There's 24 hour access to George Street, as one of the main, bustling streets of Edinburgh. Metered parking is available directly in front of our main door entrance, along the street.
There's three steps into the restaurant, with a ramp available for wheelchair access - please let the team know upon booking to facilitate this.
Inside, accessible features are available at ground floor level. However, if experiencing the Private Dining Room, please note this can only be accessed by a flight of stairs as there is no lift.


The restaurant is situated at the Main Entrance of the National Gallery, in East Princes Street Gardens. There is no car park, but there is a drop-off point on the precinct which is the large, paved area just off the Mound between the National building at the back and the Royal Scottish Academy building at the front facing Princes Street. There is parking close by, including for blue badge holders. Once inside the precinct, there is a ramp to enter the Royal Scottish Academy building. From inside this building there is a lift which takes you downstairs to the Main Entrance area of the National building, providing access through to The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant.  Alternatively, outdoors there is a fully accessible ramp from Princes Street, which takes you to the Main Entrance in East Princes Street Gardens. Accessible facilities are available inside the restaurant.


Throughout the year, vehicle drop off is available (except for during the month of August due to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo - requests for disabled access during this time should be directed to the Tattoo).
Metered parking is available on Johnston Terrace and via the Castle Terrace carpark. Cannonball House is fully accessible with a passenger lift inside the entrance from the courtyard, accessing all floors including the bar, restaurant and private dining room. All accessible features are located on the upper ground level floor.
